On behalf of the KRC team, we would like to express our wishes for an amazing year ahead. Here on the yard we have had a fun packed month of December as I’m sure you all know. From the ever so successful Christmas show to the festive hacks that have taken place.
Last month’s catch up
The Christmas bonanza went down a treat with clients, staff and of course the horses. The day started of with the fantastic staff musical ride performed by; Jodie on Jojo, Elliot on Jinty, Kate on Jemima and Katie on Jamie, who came back to his old home KRC to join in for the day. There were some amazing fancy dress entries
As you saw from the Decembers issue, Polo and Jo Jo were planning to be competing in their first dressage competition since arriving a KRC, sadly due to adverse weather conditions it was un safe to do the long drive. Arrangements have been made with the competition centre to forward the entries to the next event, you will be kept informed!
We have had some of our much loved livery horses come back to the yard after a few weeks on holiday over the Christmas period, the staff are always over the mood to welcome back the horses. All the horses are looking very smart with their winter clips. Many people have asked…’why do you shave the horses?’ In winter seasons, the horses grow big fluffy coats to keep warm as they would in the wild, however when they are ridden they can become too hot and sweat so there are various different types of “clip” we use for different horses depending on their breed, work load, age and temperament.
The staff here at KRC would like to give a great big thank you to everyone that donated money to the Christmas staff box, it was greatly appreciated. The team have been getting their thinking caps on as they are learning how to use the new online booking system which is very exciting and modern…once they all get the hang of it!
Bits and bobs
All lessons and hacks are back to their usual schedules now so get booking! Don’t forget about our evening lessons ; private lessons Wednesday and Friday from 6pm to 10pm and group lessons Thursday 6pm to 10pm. What better way to work off those extra Christmas pounds we all gain?
KRC wishes you he best for the year ahead and hope you’ve had a great start!
